Emergency Information
Emergency Response on Roosevelt Island
Roosevelt Island is supported by police, fire, and emergency medical services based in Queens. Public Safety works closely with city agencies to ensure coordinated emergency response. In rare situations when access to the island is limited, emergency personnel and equipment may be positioned on the island to maintain response capability. Regular drills and coordination help ensure readiness.

RIOC communicates urgent and time-sensitive information—such as service disruptions, weather impacts, and emergency instructions—through its community advisory system. Residents are strongly encouraged to sign up to receive alerts by text, email, or phone so you can stay informed in real time.
